Yussef Esteves, madaling nakumbinsing mag-frontal sa indie film

Yussef-EstevesFIRST TIME mag-direk, pasok kaagad sa film festival ang pelikula ng actor now a film director na si Carlos Morales at nanalo last Sunday ang pelikula niyang Piring.

Congratulations kay Carlos for winning 2nd Best Picture (Filipino New Category) for his debut film Piring in last Sunday’s awarding ceremony for the 2015 World Premieres Film Festival-Philippines held at MOA Centerstage.

The film also won in the Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Rocky Salumbides (ang boyfriend ni Eula Valdez).

Sayang nga lang at hindi nagwagi si Yussef Esteves, ang guwapong bida sa pelikula kung saan may frontal nudity pa ang baguhan sa pelikula. “I play the role of James. A working student struggling for both ends to meet,” kuwento niya sa amin days before the festval.

Aminado si Yussef na challenging ang role niya. “I did a full frontal in this film and it’s my firts time to do it. Direk Carlos didn’t had a hard time convincing me to do it ‘cause when I first read the script, nabasa ko na ‘yung part na I really have to go naked. Then sabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. ‘Cause it’s not something na ‘yung tipong ‘yun lang ang aabangan. Kumbaga its only the tip of the iceberg. And then, it really requires the character to do so. For the sake of art and my craft, I have so much passion and dedication to offer. I love getting lost in every character I play,” kuwento ni Yussef.

Mapanonood ang Piring on the following dates: July 3, 9:00 pm and July 4, 5:00 pm at SM North Edsa; and SM Megamall; July 6, 3:00pm at SM South Mall.

Kabilang sa pelikula sina Bembol Roco, Tessie Tomas, Roco Nacino, Krista Miller, Joseph Bitangcol, at Yussef Esteves. Congrats!
