I know a lot of us have been watching the reality television series Pinoy Big Brother ever since it first aired in the Philippines many years ago. We have seen the birth of many celebrities from that show, including Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros, Myrtle Sarrosa and many more.
That is how Maymay Entrata got her path to her dreams – by being proclaimed the ultimate winner. And, how far she’d come!
From appearing in commercials, magazine covers and television shows, Maymay had finally achieved her dreams, and continues to work hard to entertain her fans. Here are the things you didn’t know about Maymay Entrata.
Maymay was born as Marydale Entrata on May 6, 1997 in Camiguin, Philippines. She and her older brother was raised by their grandparents. At an early age, she knew that she wanted to work in front of the camera.
She auditioned for many reality television programs since she was a young girl. Among these are The Voice, Pilipinas Got Talent and PBB Teen Clash 2010 and 737. She studied for Technology Communication Management at the Mindanao University of Science and Technology before stopping to pursue her showbusiness endeavors.
It was her ailing grandfather who inspired her to join the realty television program Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7, where she eventually was proclaimed the ultimate winner. Maymay winning the competition opened numerous doors of opportunity for her to begin her entertainment career. She made her first film debut in the romantic comedy movie Loving in Tandem together with Edward Barber.
Her first television series is with the fantasy serye La Luna Sangre acting as Apple Toralba between 2017 and 2018. Throughout the beginning of her career, she periodically appeared in drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya and Wansapanataym.
ACTING AND HOSTING PORTFOLIO
Maymay asides from appearing on different television shows also worked on digital shows. She first appeared in the show Follow The Lucky Three Teens as herself in 2017 which was aired and available at the ABS-CBN Mobile. In the same year, she appeared in the show Squad Goals.
She began her hosting stint in the show ASAP Chillout which is available on ABS CBN Online. She continued to host different shows such as the iWant ASAP and World of Dance Online which appeared in iWant and World of Dance Philippines platforms respectively.
MUSIC AND CONCERT
In 2017, she launched her debut album, Maymay, with nine tracks under Star Music. The album went on to reach Platinum and Gold certifications from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry the same year. Two years after the release of her first album, Maymay released her second studio album entitled #M0806 under Star Music. It has 12 tracks.
Maymay also furthered her musical career by holding several concerts. Her first concert was The Dream in 2018, held at the Kia Theater. The success of The Dream concert led to her The Dream Tour to promote her album.
Maymay turned out to be among the bankable product endorsers of her generation. First, she and her love team Edward Barber were signed in as endorsers of the mega fast food chain McDonalds. Her popularity among the masses landed her the endorsement for Vivo, Vice Cosmetics and Broadway Gems, all in 2017.
In 2018, Maymay signed in to endorse the popular ready to drink milk tea of Nestea. She was also one of the celebritid endorsers for the social media platform TikTok (Philippines). In the same year, she became a part of the Belo endorsers when she was signed in to become the face of Belo Essentials Papaya Soap.
We last saw Maymay in the film Princess Dayareese, which was released early this year. So we hope that this is a sign that we get to see her more in the either the big or small screens. But regardless of her projects, we wish her good health and happiness, both of which she truly deserves!
