Things You Didn’t Know About Max Collins

I REMEMBER seeing the beautiful Isabelle Abiera on the cover of a teen fashion magazine more than a decade ago. There’s something about the beautiful cover girl that radiates a positive aura!

Fast forward to a few months, the cover girl had finally crossed to the television shows from print ads and magazines. I couldn’t be happier! Since then, I’ve supported her transition from a teen queen to a competent actress who is now using the stage name Max Collins.

Max Collins is currently appearing in the drama romance series To Have and To Hold in the GMA Telebabad line up. For those of you who have watched her and are unfamiliar with her, here are some of the things you may not know about Max Collins.

EARLY LIFE

Max was born as Isabelle Abiera Collins on August 28, 1992 in California, United States of America. He mother is a Filipino who hails from Aklan, while her father is an American of Irish-Italian descent. Max’s parents separated when she was a little girl. She has a younger half-brother.

When she was ten years old, her family moved to Aklan. She spent her younger days in Boracay where she studied at the Beant School Boracay. 

CAREER BEGINNINGS

Because of her stunning physical features, Max had been involved in different commercials since she was a young girl. Mostly, she first appeared in nationally-circulated magazines such as Meg, Mega, Candy and Seventeen. Her discovery into the world of entertainment was purely an accident. She mistakenly walked into as shop while a shoot is in progress, it was where a talent scout spotted her.

After that incident, she auditioned and managed to land a spot at the Star Magic Batch 15. She was known back then as Isabelle Abiera and not Max Collins. Under her screen name, she appeared in shows such as Star Magic Presents: Astigs and Abt Yur Luv, a youth oriented program that ran for two years. She also had been a host for Channel V.

COMEBACK

After her  contract with Star magic ended, Max flew to the States to think things through. When she came back, she changed her agent, changed her stage name to max Collins and signed an exclusive contract with the rival station, GMA Network.

She landed the role of Ziri Claustro in the television drama series The Good Daughter which starred Kylie Padilla. She played the best friend of Kylie’s character in the television series. In 2012, Max starred with Dingdong Dantes and Lorna Tolentino in the drama series Pahiram ng Sandali. She also starred in the afternoon fantasy drama series ‘Innamorata’.

NOTABLE WORKS

Benjamin Alves, Max Collins, Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica in Coffee Prince

Max appeared in the Philippine remake of the legendary Korean drama, Coffee Prince. This romantic comedy series starred Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica. Max had also worked with Benjamin Alves., Celia Rodriguez, Tessie Tomas and Leo Martinez in the project. She also appeared as a guest cast in the fantasy drama series Encantandia in 2016.

BIHAG lead stars Jason Abalos, Max Collins and Sophie Albert

Someone To Watch Over Me is among her famous projects which was led by Tom Rodriguez and Lovi Poe. Also, The One That Got Away, a romantic comedy series, is another commendable project of hers. She stars with Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos and Dennis Trillo in this serendipity type of comedy romance drama.

Max Collins once again played the lead role in the 2019 afternoon drama series ‘Bihag’ with Jason Abalos, Sophie Albert and Mark Herras.

CURRENT PROJECTS

‘To Have and To Hold’ stars Carla Abellana, Rocco Nacino and Max Collins

Max had recently appeared in the Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday, a television drama program that stars Barbie Forteza and Kate Valdez. She is currently starring in the drama romance television series To Have and To Hold opposite Carla Abellana and Rocco Nacino. She is also working with other actors such as Rafael Rosell, Dion Ignacio, Valeen Montenegro and Ina Feleo.
