Things You Didn’t Know About Kim Molina

PERHAPS she might appear to some people as a pampered princess – having lived abroad and attended international schools while growing up. But as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover.

Kim Molina has been appearing in your televisions as early as 2009, as guest in ASAP Natin ‘To and Rated K. However, she began to rise to fame due to her theater work. Yes, she was and still is a professional theater actress before she transitioned into films and movies.

Now, Kim can be seen everywhere – in films, television series, and of course, her first love, in theater. With her international and multi-media background, who really is the true Kim? Here are the things you may not know about Kim Molina.

EARLY LIFE

Kim Molina was born as Kimverlie Soriano Molina on July 1, 1991 in Manila, Philippines. When she was just two years old, her father flew to Saudi Arabia to practice his trade – dentistry. She and her mother, also a dentist, followed when she was four.

She has two brother – Adam and Gero. She attended the Playroom Preschool, International Philippine School and the Al Andalus International School. In high school, she attended the Al Jazeera International School which was based in the city of Dammam.

CAREER BEGINNINGS: Theater

She knew she loved entertaining even when she was young. At the age of 5, she began performing as a front act to various Filipino artists who visit the Middle East. When she was 14 years old, she won the The Filipino Channel Pop Star contest. In 2009, she was chosen to represent the Middle East in Los Angeles California for the World Championships of Performing Arts.

She started her professional career as a stage actress when she was casted as one of the ensemble in Disney’s Tarzan The Musical in 2013. The same year, she again appeared in the Carrie The Musical as Freida.

BREAKTHROUGH: FROM THEATER TO TV TO FILMS

In 2014, Kim finally landed her lead role in theater when she was casted as Aileen in the still ongoing musical Rak of Aegis. From there, her talent has been recognized and she started appearing in movies and television.

Her first supporting role in television was with the longest running drama anthology series – Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2014. She played numerous supporting roles in television series such as Wansapanataym, You’re My Home, Dear Uge and Tasya Fantasya.

 

CONTINUOUS APPEARANCES IN TV, THEATER AND FILMS

On TV, Kim Molina became a favorite character actress. The most memorable of which is playing Savannah, the best friend of Daniella (Dimples Romana) in Kadenang Ginto. The audience loved to hate her! At the same time, she also appeared in a goody role in The General’s Daughter and a special appearance in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

She became a household name when she landed the main role in the film Camp Sawi in 2016. Before the pandemic, she became a box office star because of her iconic roles in the films Jowable and Momol Nights.

From playing various supporting roles on TV, she finally landed her lead role or protagonist role in the television series Tadhana: The One That Ran Away in 2020. The series was aired in GMA Network.

Kim Molina just finished her TV5 shows: Masked Singer Pilipinas and Born to Be a Star.

RECENT PROJECTS

Kim Molina in ‘Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’

Last year, Kim had a special participation in the comedy drama film Love The Way U Lie which stars Xian Lim and Alex Gonzaga. She recently appeared as the main lead in the movie Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam with real life boyfriend Jerald Napoles. The film was produced by Vivamax.

Matte Guidicelli and Kim Molina are the hosts of ‘Born to be a Star’

She recently appeared in another episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, this time as the lead role. Kim also is the current host for the season 2 of the reality singing competition Born To Be A Star. She hosts alongside Matteo Guidicelli.

Kim recently celebrated her birthday, having turned 29 last July 1. To our favorite all around super talented actress, happy happy birthday Kim! Many happy returns and more projects to come!
