Francine Diaz

EARLY LIFE

Francine was born Francine Carrel Saenz Diaz on January 27, 2004 in Cavite, Philippines.

She entered showbusiness in 2015, as a promising young child star. Currently, she is under the management of Star Magic.

Although still young, she was already exposed to the harsh realities of life. It is a known fact that Francine grew up in an underprivileged family. Her situation inspired her to work at an early age and pursue showbusiness to help her family out of poverty.

CAREER BEGINNINGS

Francine Diaz in ‘Be My Lady’

She started her career by accepting minor roles in television, particularly playing the younger version of the main characters in numerous ABS-CBN television series. Her debut television series is in 2015, in the iconic drama Pasion De Amor, playing the young Sari Elizondo.

In 2016, she played the role of young Pinang Crisostomo in the drama series Be My Lady. This role made her a household name. This was bolstered by Francine landing another role in the drama series ‘The Greatest Love’, playing the role of Young Gloria Guerrerro and Tintin Alcantara. She also appeared as Ginny in ‘The Blood Sisters’

BREAKTHROUGH

From a young age, she worked her way up the entertainment ladder until she was given her biggest break yet. In 2018, she landed the role of Cassandra “Cassie” Mondragon in the high rated afternoon television drama series Kadenang Ginto. She played this role for two years.

She eventually entered the world of primetime television series when she played the role of Pre-teen Rhian Bonifacio (Angel Locsin) in the highly anticipated military, drama series The General’s Daughter.

In 2020, she appeared played the younger version of Kim Chiu in the documentary show Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan, broadcasted in the Kapamilya Channel. In the same year, she played Jade, the main protagonist and lead role in the Bawal Lumabas: The Series.

FILMS

Francine Diaz and Kyle in ‘Silly Red Shoes’

Only after several years after her television debut did Francine debut in her first film. She debuted with the film Silly Red Shoes in 2019 and played the character of Ashley who has special feet. This landed her to pair up with Chuck, a shoemaker, played by Kyle Echarri.

In the same year, she starred in the musical family comedy The Mall The Merrier, alongside Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda. In 2020, she and the rest of the Gold Squad (Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin), where announced to star in the horror film All Nighter.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Francine is set to appear in the drama romance fantasy series Huwag Kang Mangamba which is set to be broadcasted by Kapamilya Channel and A2Z. Francine is one of the leading protagonist, landing the role of Joy. She will be acting alongside Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, and Kyle Echarri.

The series is directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng, Darnel Joy Villaflor, and Emmanuel Palo. It will replace the television series Walang Hanggang Paalam and is set to premier on March 29 this year.

As someone who researched her roots, I am floored by how far she had come. From someone who can barely afford food to eat or pay their rent, Francine really struggled and persevered to be where she is now. And truly, there is no one who deserves it more than her.

As her birthday approaches, we only wish Francine to find her own happiness, pursue her dreams and simply, live the life she worked for. Happy Birthday!
