ANDREA TORRES is one of GMA-7’s hottest stars. Not only is she pretty and sexy, but she is a fine actress who can do drama and comedy.
For us, she is one admirable woman. Even if she projects a sexy image due to the nature of roles given to her, she still exudes class and sophistication. No wonder GMA considers her as one of their most loved teleserye leading ladies.
Now that she’s turning a year older and definitely wiser as observed on how she handled a current issue about her personal life plus how she moves forward by giving her all on her upcoming primetime show Legal Wives, it’s about time to know Andrea Torres more!
Andrea was born Andrea Elizabeth Eugenio Torres on May 4, 1990 in Makati, Philippines. She has several siblings, one of which is a sister who is a medical doctor. She often posts photos of and with her family on her Instagram account.
She began her career in the show business in 2005. She briefly concentrated on her studies when she took up communication arts at the Faculty of Arts and Letters at the University of Santo Tomas. During her university days, she participated in a lot of extra-curricular activities.
Andrea first began her career in front of the small screen as a contestant in the teen-reality show Qpids in 2005. Hosted by Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano, she participated in various challenges such as races and acting to be able to proceed to the next round. She then transferred to the rival network to host a youth oriented show, Ka-Blog!.
After a brief break from showbusiness to concentrate on her studies, Andrea went back to acting and landed one of her iconic role in the remake of the classic series Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga where she was paired opposite Mikael Daez.
Perhaps the role that made Andrea Torres a household name was with her project The Millionaire’s Wife in 2016, where she acted the character of Louisa, a single mother who married an old rich man in order to provide for her ailing son. She also became a regular cast member of the longest runnig gag show, Bubble Gang, where she was able to show her funny side and even participated in a number of ‘naughty’ skits!
She was also in the action drama television series Alyas Robin Hood which also casted Dingdong Dantes and Megan Young. In 2019, she landed the lead role in the television drama series The Better Woman, where she met her real and reel love tandem, Derek Ramsey.
Andrea concentrated on landing a lot of television series in her career. But she never neglected her acting portfolio when it came to making films and appearing in the big screen. She first debuted in film in the movie Shake, Rattle and Roll 9 as a school girl in 2007.
Slowly, she worked her way up from doing supporting roles, to landing main characters. In 2016, she starred in the Philippines-Cambodian film released as Fight For Love. She acted alongside Mikael Daez and other Cambodian stars like Meas Thorn Srenai, Khat Vaihang, and Tep Rindaro. Her last film to date was in 2017, Meant To Beh which starred Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta.
Honest, we are still waiting for that much deserved launching movie. Paging GMA Films!
Well, what can you say about Andrea’s work so far? Honestly, I am just glad that her network is giving her enough exposure and acting roles that showcases her acting depth and versatility. She is not boxed only as a sexy star rather a bankable and talented young actress honing her craft in a slow but gradual manner. She celebrates her birthday on May 4, and as fans, we can only say that may she be blessed with more projects, and of course, true happiness.
For those who miss Andrea Torres, don’t worry because she will be back on primetime TV soon with Legal Wives, where she is paired with another talented Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo. Can’t wait!
