NAGNINGNING ANG gabi sa star-studded 7th Star Magic Ball na ginanap sa Fairmont Hotel in Makati City. Dinaluhan ang nasabing okasyon ng mga naglalakihang artista ng Star Magic at mga ABS-CBN big bosses sa pangunguna nina ABS-CBN Chairman Gabby Lopez, President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN Channel Head Cory Vidanes, Head of TV Production Laurenti Dyogi, Star Magic Head Mariole Alberto, at ama ng Star Magic na si ‘Mr. M’ Johnny Manahan.
Black, white and champagne ang overall theme ng Star Magic Ball. Isa sa mga inabangan nang gabing iyon ay ang mga bonggang kasuotan ng mga artista na rumampa ng husto sa red carpet.
Agaw-eksena ang mga female stars dahil sa kanilang mga agaw-pansin na kasuotan gaya ng sleek and sexy black gowns (Gretchen Barretto, Maja Salvador, Jessy Mendiola); plunging neckline gown (Melissa Ricks); crystals and white gowns (Bea Alonzo, Kaye Abad, Erich Gonzalez, Empress Schuck); black and white graphic striped sequined gown (Maricar Reyes); princess-cut ball gown (Kim Chiu); lace-topped gown (Nikki Gil); nude gown (Dawn Zulueta). May high slit at fringe cape ang gown ni Angelica Panganiban habang may low front and back ang gown ni Shaina Magdayao; Kristine Hermosa wore a blue gown while Julia Barretto, Julia Montes and Kathryn Bernardo wore chic gowns na bagay sa kanilang edad.
The male stars looked dapper in their suits: Daniel Padilla (printed suit); Enrique Gil (vivid dark blue suit); Jake Cuenca and Ejay Falcon (white suit). Some opted for classic black suits and tuxedo like Gerald Anderson, Zanjoe Marudo, JC de Vera, Xian Lim, Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, and Coco Martin.
This year’s Star Magic Ball gave special awards to artists like Xian and Kim (Most Fabulous Pair); Empress and Joseph Marco (Stars of the Night); Gerald and Maja (Best Dressed Male and Female); and Kathryn and Daniel (Couple of the Night).
After the awarding, nagkaroon ng special fashion show featuring the world class collection of Michael Cinco.
Siyempre hindi rin pinalampas ang mga celebrity couples na pinagmistulang Valentine’s Day ang Star Magic Ball because they were inseparable. Some celebrities came with friendly dates. Ilan sa mga spotted showbiz pairs ay sina Bea Alonzo-Zanjoe Marudo, Angelica Panganiban-John Lloyd Cruz, Kim Chiu-Xian Lim, Julia Montes-Enrique Gil, and Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla. Others came with their real-life partners like Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon, Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto, and Dawn Zulueta and Cong. Anton Lagdameo. Solo flight naman ang iba gaya nina Matteo Guidicelli, Jodi Sta. Maria, Coco Martin, and Nikki Gil.
May itinuturing namang five most controversial pairs that night: Maja Salvador-Gerald Anderson (ito ang kanilang unang Star Magic Ball bilang magkarelasyon); Enchong Dee-Dominique Cojuangco (he asked Gretchen’s permission kung pwede niyang maging ka-date si Dominique); Sam Concepcion-Jasmin Curtis (umaming exclusively dating ang status ng kanilang relasyon); Sam Milby-Jessy Mendiola (hindi magkasamang lumakad sa red carpet); at Piolo Pascual-Shaina Magdayao (while they walked at the red carpet separately, magkasunod silang pumasok sa venue.
