Obtaining Your SSS Number
Applying for an SSS ID requires a number that falls under your care for the rest of your life. For those who still don’t have their Social Security number, you need to apply online prior to getting your ID card.
To start, you must first head to the SSS website and complete the online registration process to become a member.
The next step is to submit the online form. Once you have ticked that you agree to the terms and conditions and confirmed the form submission, you will receive a link to your email address.
Click on the link and activate your profile. Click the ‘Generate SS Number’ option and you will be given your own number. This will be sent you your email. However, you also have the option to directly print out your slip.
When you have the duly accomplished the Personal Record Form, SS Number Slip, and SSS Number Application Confirmation, you may simply print them and bring them to the nearest Social Security System branch near you.
Getting the ID
While applying for your SSS ID may be initiated online, you will still need to take your documents into a physical SSS branch. This is because the agency needs to personally capture your image and verify your information.
For this process, proceed to your nearest SSS branch and bring the required documents. After submitting the requirements, the officer will get your facial images, fingerprints, and signature. Afterwards, you will be given an acknowledgement slip and you’re done.
You may claim your card or have it delivered to your home one month after your appointment. Dates may vary per branch and the number of applicants it receives.
There are no fees for first-time identification card applicants. However, for those who have lost their previous ID cards, a replacement fee of 200 Php will be charged upon replacement.
