If you’re craving for some lovin’, here are some Pinoy films that will surely make you fall in love (or maybe not).

Pinoy Films added on Netflix this December Part 2
Julia Barretto & Joshua Garcia in ‘Love You to the Stars and Back) / Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson (Between Maybes)

Must Be… Love

Starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo

LOGLINE: When a teenage girl develops romantic feelings for her childhood best friend, she finds herself changing her ways to win him over.

This 2013 coming-of-age romance-comedy is the debut film of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo as a love team. This is a classic story of childhood best friends where the girl is secretly in love with the boy, but the boy is in love with a prettier woman (Liza Soberano). If you miss innocent, kilig, teen films, this is a must-watch! KathNiel looked so young and kagigil in this film and if we’re not mistaken, this is also Liza Soberano’s first movie.

Love You to the Stars and Back

Starring Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto

LOGLINE: In search of aliens, a young woman’s road trip becomes an emotional journey when she finds—and falls for—a charming companion with cancer.

Do you miss JoshLia? This romance-drama/road trip film is about a girl who is obsessed with aliens and a guy who is fighting cancer. Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto were able to show their acting prowess through this Antoinette Jadaone film. In fact, the film garnered a lot of interest through word-of-mouth and was able to stay in cinemas for more than a month! If in a way you missed the theatrical screening or you’re simply in the mood to cry and reminisce some JoshLia moments, feel free to watch this film!

Sakaling Maging Tayo

Starring McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson

LOGLINE: A college student seizes his chance with a crush when an unexpected encounter turns into a night of bold dares, deep confessions, and possible romance.

This is the first (and last?) film of the then real and real couple McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson a.k.a. McLisse. This hugot film will make you reminisce your college days and the ‘what ifs’ with your TOTGA. If you miss Baguio City, do watch this! Of course, also if you’re a fan of McLisse!

Between Maybes

Starring: Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto

LOGLINE: A former actress takes a trip to Japan, where she meets a young man who provides an escape from reality and makes her consider a different way of life.

The making of this film in Saga Prefecture in Japan might’ve caused some controversies back in the Philippines, but you cannot deny the fact that this Jason Paul Laxamana film is really good. Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto had that sexual tension in most of their scenes. The two also shared a kiss, which was Julia’s first-ever screen kiss. If you’re curious to see what the fuzz is about, don’t miss Between Maybes because maybe… just maybe… you’ll see why Gerald and Julia developed feelings for each other in real-life!

Hello, Love, Goodbye

Starring: Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo

LOGLINE: A poor background compels Joy to work as a domestic helper in Hong Kong. While she excels in her job and enjoys the company of other household workers, Joy leaves the city and meets Pinoy bartender Ethan—a sweetheart playboy building a permanent life in Hong Kong.

The dream teamup of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards was worth all the risks! Hello, Love, Goodbye is one of the best OFW-themed film to date. The believable story and outstanding performances of Kathryn and Alden made this film special. This deserves an unlimited rewatch!

Isa Pa, With Feelings

Starring: Carlo Aquino and Maine Mendoza

LOGLINE: An aspiring architect meets and eventually develops feelings for her deaf neighbor and sign language teacher.

For the first time, Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza who is more identified with the Kapuso Network teams up with award-winning Kapamilya actor in this romantic drama film. This is one of the best films of 2019 according to critics and movie goers. Want proof? Watch it now!
