SA TIKTOK na-discover ang limang members ng US all-female group na Boys World.  Ang grupo ay binubuo nina Elana Caceres (18, Queens, New York), Olivia Ruby (19, Columbus, Ohio), Lillian Kay (18, Boise, Idaho),  Makhyli (17, Grand Rapids, Michigan) at Queenie Mae (19, Manila, Philippines but raised in the Bay Area).

Nakapag-release na ang grupo ng kanilang first single titled Girlfriends noong October 2020 na kinagiliwan ng kanilang fans and supporters all over the world.

Ayon sa kuwento ng Pinay member ng Boys World na si  Queenie, nag-DM lang sa kanya ang KYN Entertainment at tinanong kung gusto niyang maging bahagi ng isang sing and dance group.

“It took me a month and a half to even reply because a random person just hit my DM, you don’t even know who it is. I don’t want to get kidnapped. Obviously, things are meant to be now. It was insane, to be honest,” kuwento niya.

Ibinahagi rin ng Pinay singer na nasa dugo talaga ng pamilya nila ang pagkanta kaya nag-enjoy siya sa pagiging Boys World member.

“I had singing in my genes. My grandma is actually a professional singer. Right when I moved to California from the Philippines in 2007, I was about five years old. Every Friday she’d have gigs and I’d go with her.

“I grew up really just singing with my grandma. I actually sang in the talent show in high school every year and I won every year. I don’t want to do anything else, but sing. I feel really passionate about it and we all are,” she said.

After Queenie, sumunod namang na-discover sina Makhyli, then Lillian, followed by Elana and Olivia.

Bakit nga ba Boys World ang name ng kanilang grupo?

Paliwanag ni Queenie, “It’s just so ironic.  There are five girls, but it’s a boys’ world. We were just thinking that boys would be cute at first, and then we realized boys was an acronym for ‘Best Of YourSelf.’ The ‘world’ part for us just makes it global.”

Nagbigay naman ng reaksyon ang isa pang member ng Boys World sa mga nagsasabing parang ginagawa nila ang Spice Girls.

Boys World

“Yeah, some say we kind of resemble the Spice Girls. That was not on purpose! It’s weird how it worked out. They were iconic and everybody loved them. It’s really a compliment to resemble them in a way,” says Lilian

“When people compare us to girl groups like Spice Girls, I feel like they’re manifesting success for us. But we’ll be successful in our own way,” dagdag naman ni Queenie.

Last April 24 ay nagkaroon ng first  ever live stream concert ng Boys World na ang title ay While You Were Out. Kinunan ito sa Los Angeles, California. Hanggang ngayon ay magkakasama pa ring naninirahan ang grupo sa iisang bahay sa Amerika.
