Matteo Guidicelli wants to focus in showbiz and to forget kart racing

WHAT THE WORLD of kart racing has lost, showbiz has gained. Ito ang puwedeng sabihin ngayon after Matteo Guidicelli declared that he has no plans of going back to racing kung saan una siyang nakilala.

In an interview with Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN), sinabi ni Matteo that his mother did not allow him to go back to racing matapos siyang maaksidente rito. “My mom wanted me to stop kasi iyong last race ko nagka-aksidente ako. As of now, wala akong balak to go back to racing.”

Matteo started his love affair with the fast lanes when he was only 11 years old. Lumuwas siya ng Maynila when he was 14 to pursue his racing career. He was not just a pretty boy in kart racing dahil pinatunayan niya na kaya niyang makipagsabayan sa ibang taong mahilig din sa ganitong klase ng sport. In fact, he earned several awards inclu-ding  the 2002 Philippine Cadet 85 Class; 2003 Asian Championships, ICA Jr.; 2004 Philippine Open Class; 2004 Philippine Rotax Max Jr.; 2005 ICA Superkart Series Championship; and 2006 Philippine 125 Open.

Matteo is now changing lanes but he is still on the fast tracks to stardom. Ngayon ay sa mundo naman ng showbiz niya gustong makipagkarera. Matteo is now one of the most in-demand product endorsers and a member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic. He received the Most Promising Male Star of the Year in the 42nd Box-Office Entertainment Awards of the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (GMMSFI).

Matteo continues to learn the ropes of showbiz at nasusuklian naman ang kanyang pagsisikap dahil napapansin ng publiko ang kanyang husay sa pag-arte at pagho-host. Aside from the movie Catch Me I’m In Love, he has appeared in several television shows like Go Kada Go, Ligaw na Bulaklak, and Agua Bendita. He is one of the hosts of Happy Yipee Yehey at malapit nang ipalabas ang teleseryeng My Binondo Girl starring Kim Chiu and Ai-Ai delas Alas at ang pelikulang Basted.

Maganda man ang takbo ng kanyang showbiz career ngayon ay may isa pang pa-ngarap si Matteo na gusto niyang matupad. He wants to return to school and finish his course at Columbia College in Chicago. “I went to college. I studied in Columbia College in Chicago. It’s a performing arts school in Chicago. It’s a 4-year course to get a BA but natapos ko lang ang two years kasi na-homesick ako. Pero next year I’m going to go back to school. I’m going to finish my course,” determinadong pahayag ni Matteo.
