Maria Aragon, lutang na lutang ang pagiging Pinay

HUMANGA AT BUMILIB kami sa YouTube sensation na si Maria Aragon. She’s very smart sa one-on-one interview sa kanya ni Kuya Boy Abunda sa The Bottomline last Saturday. Para sa isang 10-year old, lutang na lutang na hindi lang siya very talented, she is indeed every inch ay isang Pinoy pride. At kahit na nga sa Canada siya borne and raised, very intact kay Maria ang pagiging Pinoy.

During the interview, Kuya Boy would ask Maria to sing a few bars of different songs, at talagang you can feel how passionate she is sa kanyang talent. Kaya naman nang tanungin na si Maria ni Kuya Boy about ‘boys and crushes’, ang agad na sagot ng young singer, she wants to focus on her career.

There’s no doubt that Maria is very popular now, ang YouTube video niya ng kanyang version ng ‘Born This Way’ ni Lady Gaga ay may almost 40 million hits na. At alam na ng lahat how that video made it to the pop superstar’s Twitter account and catapulted Maria to where she is now. And the young singer is very much aware that ‘Born This Way’ is a pro-gay song. The message touched her, kaya naman very heartfelt ang naging rendition niya rito.

When asked by Kuya Boy kung ‘feel’ na ng young singer na siya’y sikat at isang celebrity na, simple lang ang kanyang sagot: she was just a girl who loves to sing. Very impressive! Gusto naming palakpakan ang parents ni Maria for rearing a wonderful, adorable, smart and very talented child.

Maria is already a contract star of Star Records. At siya ang kumanta ng theme song ng pelikulang Way Back Home, ang ‘You’re My Home’, which was originally sung by Odette Quesada.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH My Binondo Girl? May natanggap kaming e-mail na disappointed on how Kim Chiu’s new TV series seems to treat the Chinese culture. The sender claims he is a Chinese.

Ipalalabas pa lang ang teleserye, ‘di ba? Trailers pa lang ang napapanood namin, so personally we can’t judge or pinpoint kung ano ang ‘nakakadismaya’ dito, as what the sender claimed. Sabi pa ng nag-e-mail, he would ask the Chinese community to stop the TV series.

Well, we hope this is just one of those e-mails from a disgruntled Kimerald fan. Sa palagay naman namin, ABS-CBN did a thorough research sa bagong TV series ni Kim.
