Kris Aquino, not fit for the title ‘Queen of All Media’

WHOEVER GAVE KRIS Aquino her monicker Queen of All Media (or was it self-proclamation?) is—sad to say—misinformed.

Himayin muna natin ang areas ng media: Broadcast (subdivided into radio and TV), print and advertising. Kris does TV, she may not belong to advertising but her many commercial endorsements make her slightly close to it. May radio program ba si Kris? At kelan pa siya pumasok sa print? Does she maintain a regular column in any major daily?

Entonces, Kris does not deserve the title. But if she’s the Queen, sa ibang kingdom o kaharian nagre-reyna si Kris.

IT’S BEEN YEARS since Vic Sotto last set foot on the grounds of ABS-CBN, presscon pa ‘yon ng pelikulang Tapos Na Ang Labada, Darling under Star Cinema with Dina Bonnevie.

Pero ang muli raw niyang pagtuntong sa Dos does not only conjure up thoughts of yore, it also promises to be happening more dahil gusto pa rin niyang gumawa ng projects with the network’s film arm. The year 2011 may be the start of it, via Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak under Tony Y. Reyes’s helm.

Obviously, ang naturang comedy film is a quaint mix of ABS-CBN and GMA stars. Pero hindi naman daw magi-ging sagabal ang promo nito sa pagtawid-bakod to hype the film which is showing on April 23. Nag-commit na raw si Bossing sa pag-guest sa The Buzz and other Channel 2 shows, while Bea will be seen in Eat Bulaga.

For once, it’s refreshing to see a “momentary ceasefire” between warring TV stations, kung saan lalo pang nagkakaroon ng kahulugan ang linya that indeed—in an industry that is besieged with sickening competition in terms of ratings supremacy and ar-tist piracy—laughter is the best medicine.

In fairness to the PNP, may  agaran naman itong aksiyon sa mga kasong iniulat at isinumbong kay Erwin, here’s hoping that Arnell’s case will also merit immediate attention lalo pa’t afraid ang hitad sa posibleng mangyari sa kanya.

To be fair also with Erwin, binibigyan din naman ng kanyang programa ng pagkakataon ang Kapulisan to address their concerns and conditions to better serve and protect the citizenry… kaya Tutok Tulfo, tutukan mo! Pagkatapos ito ng Midnight DJ tuwing Sabado.
