Ito ang paksa ng bagong Chito S. Roño film under Star Cinema, Etiquette For the Mistresses, inspired by respected columnist Julie Yap-Daza’s book with the same title. Ang aklat ay naglalaman ng mga pinagtagni-tagning kuwento ng mga kakilala, if not friends of Daza, to whom these mistresses confided their tales.
Pero bakit hindi sa isang lady director ipinagkatiwala ng Star Cinema ang proyekto? Why Roño? Well, kung tama ang aming narinig, Direk Chito is Ms. Daza’s personal choice.
Tulad ng libro na walang layuning i-glorify ang mga kabit, but rather teach them proper behavior, ‘yun din ang peg ni Direk Chito. With a cast that includes Claudine Barretto, Iza Calzado, Cheena Crab, Kim Chiu, and Kris Aquino, ang mga nasabing bida are portrayed as women with power—not your typical favorite women characters in a soap opera where they end up as victims—who can make decisions for themselves.
Aminado si Kris—who had to thank Ms. Malou Santos for egging her on to accept the role—na bantulot siya when the character of Georgia was offered to her. Kinailangan niyang prangkahin si Direk Chito na baka maapektuhan ang kanyang mga commercial endorsements with a role that is not morally upright.
Sabi raw ni Malou kay Kris, she (Kris) would regret kung hindi niya susunggaban ang project. “Ms. Malou had me read the two-page synopsis, but I told Direk Chito that there should be redemption,” ani Kris na nakatrabaho na rin ang batikang direktor sa 2014 MMFF entry na Feng Shui.
More redeeming ay nang sabihin ni Kris sa presscon ng pelikula that yes, dalawang beses na siyang naging kabit sa tunay na buhay without dropping the names of the men she had affairs with (pero alam naman ng buong showbiz kung sino ang mga ‘yon). “For me, dedma! Bimby knew about it because I had to tell him. Kasi, when he grew up, malalaman din naman niya ‘yon like sa You Tube.”
The film hits the theatres on September 30.

When she finally gives up dahil sa awa kay Bernie, si Bernie naman ang nagka-change of heart, at ayaw na niyang paalisin si Natalia dahil masarap pala itong magluto at maasikaso.
