MAY MALAKING project ang Actors Guild of the Philippines (KAPPT) na pinangangasiwaan ngayon ni Rez Cortez as president. This is all about The Film Artist Group na binubuo ng moviestars and filmmakers who are visual artists.
Ang benefit exhibit ay pinamagatang PortrAYAL (LAYA): Portraits for Freedom at sa pakikipagtulungan ito ng Mendez BIG and Small Art Co.
The exhibit was conceived by two board members of the guild who are seasoned artists — Evangeline Pascual (KAPPT Chairman of the Board) and Maria Isabel Lopez (KAPPT VP of External Affairs).
Gaganapin ang event sa July 4, 5 p.m. at tatagal hanggang July 7 sa A.R.T. Center ng SM Megamall Bldg. A. Ang Organo Gold ang magpo-provide ng opening cocktails.
Ang mga participating artists sa exhibit ay sina Heber Bartolome, Dranreb Belleza, Heart Evangelista, Lotlot de Leon, Ernie Garcia, Bangs Garcia, Baron Geisler, Louie Ignacio, Lani Lobangco, Mara Lopez, Maria Isabel Lopez, Jao Mapa, Melissa Mendez, Cesar Montano, Nadia Montenegro, Evangeline Pascual, Rosanna Roces, at Chris Villanueva.
Bibigyan din ng tribute ang mga artist who are KAPPT members na pumanaw na like Francis Magalona, Johnny Delgado, Celso Ad. Castillo, and Vic Vargas.
Nalaman namin mula mismo kay Evangeline na kung saan-saan parte na pala ng mundo nakarating ang kanilang paintings nina Maria Isabel. Napakasarap daw ng pakiramdam kapag naa-appreciate ng iba ang kanilang art.
Maria Isabel took Fine Arts sa University of the Philippines and former beauty queen naman si Evangeline.
