Gretchen Barretto, waley ang pagka-Inglesera!

BLIND ITEM: MAY umalis, may dumating. Sounds like a 70’s classic film na angkop sa situwasyon ngayon ng isang pamosong manager, na nalagasan pero nadagdagan naman ng alaga.

Exit frame ang hawak niyang aktres, sabay sulpot naman ng isang aktor who-in fairness—has a talent to boot. Bale barely a week ago lang when the manager took in the actor under her wings. Siya rin ang aktor, na bagama’t nagbibiro sa kanyang Facebook account ay naghahanap ng “booking,” mapa-matrona o bading rich enough to get him out of his financial quagmire.

Nang ipakilala nga ng manager ang aktor na ito as the latest addition to the bloated number of her talents, nag-“duet” ang dalawang showbiz reporter sa pagsasabing “Good luck!”

But of course, the phrase that used to be one of optimism has, these days, assumed a negative connotation. “Manalo” kaya ang aktor na ito in his bid to resuscitate his “All Saint’s Day” career? Ayyy… Undas na nga pala ngayon!

AS ITS REPEATED plug suggests na “Ang Huling Rampa”, obviously, matatapos na this week ang Magkaribal sa ABS-CBN lalo’t nitong Biyernes ay nagkabukingan na who inspired the finale dress common to Victoria (Gretchen Barretto) and Gelai (Bea Alonzo).

Sa kakatutok ko nga sa teleseryeng ito (which to me is a toast to kabaklaan without necessarily employing gay characters), I cannot help but take note of grammatical lapses lalo na sa mga linya ni Gretchen. Bakit nakukuhang palampasin ng direktor nito ang mga dayalog ni Gretchen in at least two episodes na napanood ko?

Here’s one. Linya ni Greta: “You wouldn’t me to do this, do you?” Hello!!! “Would you” dapat ang tag question, ‘no! At nito lang Biyernes, bumanat si Victoria bilang pagtataray sa mga design ng kanyang staff: “I won’t settle for ‘mediocrisy’!” Another hello!!! Webster must be turning in his grave, ano ‘yon, pinaghalong “mediocrity” at “hypocrisy”?!

And the last hello!!! Greta, being articulate and schooled herself, did she not bother to call the writers’ attention? Hindi lang ba niya naman itinama ang dayalog knowing that her lines could cause her English teachers at the Colegio de San Agustin to curse her?

Anyway, as the MOS (man-on-the-street) VTR shows, nalulungkot sila sa malapit nang pagtatapos ng Magkaribal. Honestly, so do I. Pero siyempre, some good teleseryes never last… aren’t we? Aren’t we daw, o!

SPREAD THE GOOD word.

Willie’s WW defies regular programming dominated by news program aired on GMA and ABS-CBN.

Unsolicited advice lang: enough of perya-like games on WW. Mag-isip naman sana ng bago ang creative team, that’s what it’s there for.
