BLIND ITEM: Despite statements of denial ng kampo ng  isang not-so-popular actress by her popular actor-boyfriend, rumors about her pregnancy simply would not subside.

And for this, she’s paying her dues.

Common sense would tell us na kung stressed out ang isang taong nagtatrabaho, the least that he or she can do is to file a leave of absence, but fleeing to some place for refuge or comfort does not seem practical.

Marami tuloy ang nag-i-speculate na ang “pagtakas” ng aktres was a forced exit, pointing to her alleged pregnant condition as the culprit. Do we see career considerations sa senaryong ito to safeguard the interests of her boyfriend more than hers?

MARICEL SORIANO’S loss is Dawn Zulueta’s gain.

After Maricel was booted out of an ABS-CBN upcoming teleserye, ang pumalit sa kanya ay si Dawn (hmmm, a much better replacement). Sa mga nangyayari sa buhay ni Maricel, we cannot help but feel sad for her.

Noong lumundag siya sa TV5 to do a drama show, a special treatment that befitted a queen was accorded to her. Pero sa mismong araw ng taping ng kanyang kauna-unahang episode, reports had it that “kaluka-lukahan” got the better of her.

For some reason, hindi umano nagustuhan ni Maricel ang script which, to us, was one of absurdity. Paanong inirereklamo niya ang script gayong bago itinakda ang taping sked, she had already been briefed kung ano ang kuwento sa likod ng episode na ‘yon?

Walang nagawa ang production staff, no amount of gentle stroking could persuade Maricel to buckle down to work. Packed up ang taping, and since it entailed high cost ay pinagbayad si Maricel ng istasyon.

Yet not quite similar to this, again, sinapian na naman ng kaluka-lukahan si Maricel sa dapat sana’y napapanahon nang pagbabalik-TV niya. Pero tila nasa time warp pa ang aktres, she thought na dekada otsenta pa ang 2013 kung kailan nasa peak pa rin siya ng kanyang career.

Of course, Maricel would play no bida in the teleserye, sa halip ay major support siya sa pangunahing ibinebenta ng network. So much unlike her, Dawn—who also had her share of fame during the 90s—knew too well na ang tambalan nila noon ni Richard Gomez would only serve as a backdrop to the Coco Martin-Julia Montes teleserye.

Sayang si Maricel if only for her delusions that she’s still on top of the game. Pardon the analogy, Maricel Soriano—tense-wise—is already a “was.”

The jokes, aside from being less funny, are an insult to the sensibilities of the audience.

Kung puwede lang, Direk Bobot, give your viewers a sensible program!
