IMAGINE we’re in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. One of the dream collaborations of pop fans

Let us teleport back to the late 90’s or early 2000’s. One of the dream collaborations of young pop fans is to see the Princess of Pop Britney Spears collaborate with the 90’s top American boy band Backstreet Boys.

Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys

Fast forward to the end of 2020. In just a snap, the childhood dream of many Britney Spears and BSB fans finally came true in the moment they didn’t expect.

“‘Matches’ featuring my friends @BackstreetBoys is out now !!!!” Britney shared on her social media accounts. “I’m so excited to hear what you think about our song together!!!! You can also listen to Glory Deluxe everywhere now … including ‘Swimming in the Stars’ and the ‘Mood Ring’ remixes !!!!”

Backstreet Boys also shared the same excitement on their social media accounts.

“What a GLORIOUS day it is… we’ve been asked about the possibility of a collab like this for the past 20 years and today is the day!! #BritneyXBackstreet is finally here!”

In true Britney fashion, ‘Matches’ is a banger track about a dangerous hot love affair. Can we possibly get a music video for this track with dance choreography and all? What about a live performance with all the five members of Backstreet Boys?

Apart from ‘Matches’, Spears also dropped the Deluxe Edition of her 2016 studio album ‘Glory’.  It now also includes ‘Swimming in the Stars’ which was released last December 2 in time for her 39th birthday and four remixes of her song ‘Mood Ring’.

In case you missed it, Britney released the underrated ‘Glory’ album way back in 2016. Some of the singles released from the Glory era include ‘Make Me’ with G-Eazy and the sexy track ‘Slumber Party’ with Tinashe. As someone who practically spent her teenage years singing and dancing to Britney Spears, it is nice to hear new material from her despite the ongoing #FreeBritney movement initiated by concerned citizens.
