NAGKAROON AKO KAMAKAILAN ng isang mapusong pakikipag-usap with John Lloyd Cruz. Marami kaming issues na napag-usapan tulad ng paghihiwalay nila ni Liz Uy at ang pagkaka-link niya kina Ruffa Gutierrez at Sarah Geronimo who were allegedly the reasons of his break-up with Liz.
I could feel his pain throughout the interview. Sinabi niyang he is going through a phase right now. He said he is searching for his rightful place as an actor and as a person.
It is never easy to say goodbye. How was it saying goodbye to Liz? “Mahirap iyon. Nahihirapan din akong sagutin iyan because I hope you understand. You know it’s not easy for someone like me to talk about these things because isa itong mahalagang tao sa akin. Hindi naman talaga parte ng industriyang ito ang involve, so mahirap siyang pag-usapan. If I can only speak for myself.” He thinks na ang nararamdaman niya ngayon is beyond pain because he said goodbye to someone special who had been part of his life for a long time.
There were many speculations regarding the cause of their separation. John Lloyd once again vehemently denied the rumor about Sarah and Ruffa. “Wala silang kinalaman. Alam namin kung ano ang totoong rason at mamamatay ako at mamamatay siya na alam namin ang totoong rason.”
He has apologized to Sarah because she was dragged into the breakup issue. “Hiyang-hiya ako roon sa tao. Sabi ko ‘Pasensiya ka na. Nadamay ka.’”
I asked him directly if he likes Ruffa. He said yes because she is very intelligent, funny and beautiful and he has no reason not to like her. “When I am being asked about kung may pag-asa ba? Do you think in the future you can be together? I would always say na parang when love happens to a person wala ka nang choice. Wala na iyan sa kamay mo kumbaga magi-give in ka na. So wala ka nang magagawa, hindi ba?” But John Lloyd quickly added that there are exceptions dahil may mga values na dapat protektahan. He just came from a relationship that it’s impossible for him to jump into a new one. Nag-usap na daw sila ni Ruffa because the issue has reached a very sensitive point.
