NOT JUST ONE but two for three!

Maluluma ang mga math experts sa pa-thank you ni Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto for the press last Thursday and Friday, hitsura ng 3-in-1 cofeee as a temporary non-patronage of the famous kapeng barako of Batangas!

Si Ate Vi lang naman ang buena mano from among the decreasing number of showbiz Santa Clauses, na nagtipon sa press in celebration of: 1.) her post-birthday (November 3); 2.) her and Senator Ralph Recto’s twin victory in the May 2010 elections; and 3.) the coming Christmas.

As proof of its success, mahigit isandaang miyembro lang naman ng press ang mainit na wilnelkam at its second of two get-togethers (held at Annabel’s) regardless media representation. Ikaw na, Tito Jun Nardo ang tanghaling Star For All Seasons na walang pinipiling supporter ni Ate Vi for no reason.

The more fact na nakibahagi ang respetadong si Mr. Nestor Torre who, I suppose, rarely attends showbiz functions ay isang malaking testimonial sa kung gaano kahalaga ang okasyon hosted by an equally important luminary such as Ate Vi.

Ala eh, may kokontra pa ga?

WHAT’S IN A program name? A lot.

I have nothing against its hosts, most specially Luis Manzano (dahil wala naman itong kinalaman sa programming decision ng ABS-CBN), but if abbreviated, the network’s new show bears the same initials as Vic Sotto’s Laugh Or Lose on TV5, o L.O.L. kung pinaiksi.

Ang nasabing daglat, bagama’t hindi patented, ay identified na kay Bossing who had a movie in recent past, ang Love On Line (L.O.L) with Paula Taylor, remember?

Not only is Channel 2’s new show an uncanny attempt at imitation in terms of program title, ang pinagkopyahan namang format nito ay ang Wow Mali!, now renamed Wow Me Gano’n? ni Joey de Leon that traces its roots to TV5.

Hence, nais ng naturang istasyon na ipahinto ang pagsasahimpapawid nito in its case with the Makati City Regional Trial Court.

Weeks ago, nahingan si ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio ng komento on how she would describe Willing Willie, and her curt reply, aniya, “Wowowee na lumipat sa TV5.”

I so agree. Same dog, different collar. Pero gusto kong isipin that Willie is also part of the creative team of Willing Willie, if not the creative mind behind it who started it all back in Wowowee.

This whole legal battle is becoming a gag show… nakakatawa.
