IF BEAUTY is in the eye of the beholder, so is cinematic ingenuity to a viewer’s judgment.
Hati kasi ang opinyon ng mga nakapanood ng trailer ng pelikulang Raketeros. This flick assembles the brightest stars in comedy noong dekada otsenta at nobenta led by Herbert Bautista with equal exposures of Anrew E, Bayani Agbayani and Ogie Alcasid mula sa direksiyon ni Randy Santiago.
May ilan na nagsasabing iihit ka sa katatawa sa patikim pa lang na trailer while others regard the gags reflective of the lead stars’ generation. Hindi naman daw “period movie” ‘yon, but the comedy does not appear to be contemporary.
Whichever, seeing the 80s-90s stars is like reliving their glory days in many a Viva Films offering. At least, dumaan man ang maraming panahon since they graced the wide screen hindi pa rin kumukupas ang kanilang galing sa pagpapatawa.
With Randy at the helm, pinatunayan din ng binansagang Mr. Shades that he can cross over to directing bukod sa pagkanta, pagho-host at pagkokomedi.
And Raketeros being the title, gusto na lang naming isipin na napapanahon ito if only for the proliferation of racketeers na sangkot sa iba’t ibang uri ng mga syndicated at large-scale scam.
