WITH PRINCE STEFAN’S de-nial about his string of alleged homosexual affairs, hindi namin napigilang magbalik-alala sa linyang binitiwan noon ni Jimboy Salazar.
Like Prince, Jimboy was also rumoured to be gay, pero mariin niya itong itinanggi. Very vivid pa sa aming memorya ang eksaktong linyang sinabi ni Jimboy: “Ako, bakla? Helloooo!”
Caught in the same situation, or even worse, it’s Prince’s turn now to deny the allegations as anonymously repor-ted in an on-line blog journal titled Ang Pagbagsak ni Prince Stefan. Sa naturang artikulo, idinetalye ng may-akda ang mga naging ka-relasyon ng Starstruck alumnus, allegedly with a woman and three gay men.
Nakasaad din sa expose na ‘yon ang umano’y balak na pagpapa-kasal ni Prince at ng kanyang gay lover sa New York. Tinangka ng Startalk TX na kunin ang panig ni Prince, but he begged off saying that he was not yet ready to give any comment.
Sa halip ay idinaan na lang ni Prince through a social networking site ang kanyang reaksiyon, which sounded very much like Jimboy’s vehement denial. Ani Prince: “Nakakatawa nga, eh. Magpapakasal daw ako sa New York? Hello, bakit naman ako magpapakasal, ‘di ba?”
Jimboy was sidelined for se-veral years until sumikat siya nang maugnay kay Mahal whether real or imagined ang kanilang relasyon, but only to resurface with a total re-imaging as Jimgirl. Taking a cue from this, sana’y sa muling pagi-ging aktibo ni Prince ay huwag niya ring baguhin ang kanyang pangalan from what it is now to… Princess.
KUNG NAIPALUSOT MAN ni German Moreno ang taped guesting ni Nora Aunor sa kanyang late-night (or early-morning) program na Walang Tulugan—despite a “seeming news blackout” on the singer-actress sa mga entertainment shows ng GMA—let’s give it to the Master Showman.
Malaya kasing nai-promote ni Ate Guy sa WT ang kanyang nakalinyang teleserye sa TV5, obviously something that GMA does not stand to gain anything from.
But lest we forget, Kuya Germs and Ate Guy’s friendship transcends network wars, even territorial boundaries that had separated them for eight long years. Mahigit apat na dekada na ang kani-lang pagkakaibigan way before there ever existed a raging battle among TV stations.
Nauunawaan din namin ang stand ng GMA for choosing not to air feature stories on Nora, pero naniniwala kami na ang kanyang pagbabalik—her airport arrival at the very least—was last week’s biggest showbiz story in a long time.
And any big story is supposedly like manna from heaven in the Biblical times to be partaken of by all, hindi kinakanya o inaangkin, tulad ng marapat na ginawa lang ng TV5.
