NATIONAL YOUTH COMMISSION (NYC) 12 SINE KABATAAN FINALISTS NAMED

SINE KABATAAN finalists

MATAPOS ang puspusang pagre-review ay pinangalanan na ng National Youth Commission (NYC) sa pamumuno ni Chairperson Aiza Seguerra ang 12 finalist para sa kanilang Sine Kabataan Short Film Competition na ipapalabas sa darating na Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino na all-Filipino film festival ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) sa darating na August 16 to 22 sa mga sinehan sa buong bansa.

 
Out of 185 entries na nirepaso ng screening committee para sa Sine Kabataan; dose sa mga ito ay ang mga sumusunod: 
 
1.Haraya (Daniel Delgado); 2. Fat You (Ronnel Rivera III); 3. Dorothy (Angelique Evangelista);4. Delayed Si Jhemerlyn Rose (Don Senoc); 5. Alipato (Michael Joshua Manahan); 6. Akalingwan Nang Rosa (Max Canlas); 7. Ya Right (Gab Mesina); 8. Shaded (Vanneza Clear Estanol); 9. Ang Unang Araw ng Pasukan (Ar-Jen Manlapig); 10. Pahimakas (Lance Maravillas); 11. Ang Kapitbahay Ko Sa 2014 (Anya Nepomuceno); at pang 12. Makartur (Brian Spencer Reyes)
 
Sa twelve finalists, dalawang short films ang paparangalan at tatanggap
ng The Jury’s Choice at Best Picture Award. Ang sampu may mananalo ng consolation prizes at plagues of appreciation.

Sa pahayag ni Usec. Aiza: ”We are awed by the overwhelming response that we received from the young film enthusiasts. This competition proves that the youth can truly utilize film as a medium in expressing their sentiments about issues affecting them,” sabi nito sa panayam.

 
Ang special jury ay binubuo nina film directors Carlitos Siguion-Reyna at Raymond Red kasama si NYC Commissioner Perci Cendana.
 
Sa mapipili bilang Best Picture ay mananalo ng cash prize na Php50, 000 at para sa Jury’s Choice ay magwawagi ng P30, 000.
 
Para sa mananalong Best Picture ay bibigyan ng roundtrip ticket and accommodation for one para ma-experience ang Busan International Film Festival.
 
Dagdag ni ni Usec Aiza: “One of the best incentives to our young filmmakers who participated in this competition is to have their works shown to theaters nationwide beginning August 16-22, 2017 alongside with the regular films. This is hoped to raise awareness and consciousness on specific youth issues that are expected to inspire concrete actions from all concerned,” pagwawakas niya.
