Na kay Claudine Barretto ang bigat
Raymart Santiago, walang kailangang patunayan sa korte

WHAT MRS. Inday Barretto said of her son-in-law Raymart Santiago at last week’s hearing bilang “bad man,” ay iba sa pandinig ng Startalk host na si Alyssa Alano, ‘yun ay habang umeere ang VTR  feature tungkol pa rin sa hidwaan ng aktor kontra sa kanyang misis na si Claudine.

Buong-kainosentahang tanong ni Alyssa who, in fairness, was not all-eyes on the VTR, “Bakit tinawag ni Mrs. Barretto na ‘Batman’ si Raymart?” Kunsabagay, the words Batman and bad man are homonyms o magkasintunog.

Ganu’n na lang tuloy ang tawa ni Lolit Solis off-camera sa off-camera rin namang boo-boo ni Alyssa. But let’s face it, not to be dismissed as a faux pas (blooper o pagkakamali) ang mas malalim na aspeto sa usaping sangkot ang mag-asawa who have taken their serious marital spat all the way to the court.

And between Raymart and Claudine, nasa huli ang tinatawag na burden of proof batay sa kanyang mga bagong rebelasyon why a seemingly happy marriage has fallen apart. Ayon kay Claudine, taong 2002 pa noong magnobyo pa sila ni Raymart when she was already a victim of the latter’s physical abuse.

We’re talking here of a case more than 10 years ago, kung saan Claudine could have simply called off their wedding date under such circumstances. Pero sumige pa rin siya.

Taliwas naman ang sinasabing “bad man” image ni Mrs. Barretto sa depensa ni Gretchen who stands by her belief na isang “disente at respetadong pamilya” ang mga Santiago. Alisin na natin ang personal issue between these two warring sisters, na sa totoo lang, is the height of a deplorable sibling rivalry anyone can ever imagine.

This time, we would like to give it to Gretchen under the assumption na keber kung kadugo niya si Claudine, basta ang mahalaga’y nagsasabi siya ng katotohanan. Act of betrayal man ang mga pahayag ni Gretchen, but assuming that she has truth on her side, at least, we know who the “Batwoman,” este, the bad woman is.

A SELF-CONFESSED fan of Maricel Soriano, as fierce as her monster-sounding movie Momzillas ay ganoon din kabalasik ang aming tuwa that she’s back on the wide screen via a comedic role that we have so adored about her.

Dagdag-bonus si Eugene Domingo in this Star Cinema-Viva Entertainment offering, kumbaga, the viewer gets two for a price of one sa isa na namang riot, surely a blockbuster movie ni direk Wenn V. Deramas.

We are less concerned about Uge, after all, hindi siya nababakante ng trabaho unlike Maricel  whose fans have not seen her grace the wide screen for ages.

After a long hibernation, it’s about time Maricel made her presence felt once again. Credit goes to Direk Wenn, kumbaga sa hospital equipment, siya ang nagsilbing life support system para ang muntik nang mag-flat line na career ni Maricel ay pumalong muli.

HER VERY own Mauve Records paved the way para sumikat sa Japan ang singer na si Jos Garcia via her album Is This Love?

A deadringer for Verni Varga, bale kapatid ni Jos sa kuwadra ni Tita Annie si Alyssa Alano. Hindi lang basta mang-aawit si Jos, she’s also the lyricist sa likod ng carrier single ng 14-track album niya titled Pag-ibig Ba Ito?

Jos also takes pride in her Japanese interpretation of Ikaw Ang Iibigin. With an ear for music, ramdam namin ang emosyon sa mga kanta ni Jos. Inamin naman niya na malalim ang pinaghuhugutan niya base na rin sa kanyang mga karanasan.

“Kuya, like any singer, music becomes his self-expression to vent his feelings,” ani Jos sa tonong masarap pakinggan sa tenga.
