We would like to lay claim sa kababaan ng loob ng nasirang psychic who must be turning in his grave dahil ani Roland, huwag namang gamitin ang isang taong yumao na ng ilang manghuhula to prove their credibility.

Hindi namin personal na kilala ang pinatutungkulan ni Roland, but based on the stories that we have so far heard about the subject ay nagpapakontrobersiyal ito with his fearless predictions for 2012. Sana lang, not at the expense of Jojo Acuin whose death he perhaps had failed to predict.

HAD US SECRETARY of State Hillary Rodham Clinton been invited to the grand launch of TV5’s PS I Love You, for sure, she would have staged a walkout habang bumabanat (na naman!) ng Ingles si Melissa Mendez!

Standing right next to director Robert Quebral on the other side of the stage was this character actress, ipinakilala kasi ang buong cast ng sequel ng 80s Sharon Cuneta-Gabby Concepcion movie via its TV adaptation to premiere tonight. Ugaling-ugali ni Melissa na magpa-impress in a language that she feels comfortable with pero sablay naman.

Seemingly always, nasa subtext na yata ni Melissa ang kursong MassComm na tinapos (we were ahead by two years in college), thus her conscious effort to speak English even if it’s not music to one’s ears. Minsan na naming pinuna ang pag-i-Ingles ng hitad, she called our attention pero isa lang ang sinabi namin sa kanya: huwag nang magpaka-TH kung hirap naman sa pagsasalita.

Anyway, as opposed to Melissa’s lack of oral proficiency, huhusga-hang muli si Alex Gonzaga if at all ay siya nga ang karapat-dapat na tawaging Primetime Princess. She plays Andrea, daughter to Kristine (Dina Bonnevie) na kinayang itaguyod ang kanilang family business only to sell it later to a billionaire investor na si Mark na ginagampanan ni Gabby, Kristine’s old flame.

This is one notch higher in terms of thespic requirements for Alex who got first teleserye break via Babaeng Hampaslupa. Unlike her tattered character, Alex gets to don her fashionable outfits in PS I Love You na nagko-compliment sa mga kasuotan ni Dina.

‘Yun nga lang, kapansin-pansin that during the launch, Dina hardly carried her red gown na lalo pang siyang pinagmukhang malaki, as in bursting at the seams. Of course, the original Kristine was essayed by Sharon who, well, is just as big anyway.

WHILE ITS RIVAL stations have embarked on well-produced Christmas ID’s, sinadyang magpakaiba ang TV5.

Nagsilbing kasing ambassadress si Ruffa Gutierrez in the recent UAE (United Arab Emirates) tour particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi sa pagpapalaganap ng so-called Corporate Social Responsibility as TV5 International was successfully launched recently.

As part of TV5’s Give Me 5, Kapatid that kicked off last November 3-5, hinihikayat ng naturang proyekto na makalikom ng mga donasyon para tugunan ang mga pangangailangan ng maraming run-away o distressed nating mga UAE-based OFWs sa kanilang ha-ngaring makauwi ng bansa to get reunited with their families.

Sagot ng mga proceeds nito ang pambili ng airline tickets ng ating mga kababayan, in re-cognition of our tradition na mahalagang nagkatipun-tipon ang mga pamilya on an occasion like Christmas.
