A SHOWBIZ HEADLINE reads: Cristine Reyes at Dennis Trillo, nagkabalikan?!
Sana’y nagkabalikan na lang ang dalawa, enough of the oft-abused “We’re just friends” line that makes anyone’s eyebrows raise in disbelief. Sana nga’y love is lovelier the second time around, dahil aber, paano nila maipaliliwanag ang umano’y laplapan nila recently sa isang bar while attending a common friend’s birthday party?
Sa dami ng guests sa okasyong ‘yon, mostly from the upper echelon ng ating lipunan, imagine, nakaagaw pa sina Dennis at Cristine ng atensiyon? So, who says that their amorous moments had gone unnoticed? Ang sabihin nila, wala yata silang kamalay-malay na bar ang pinuntahan nila, they thought they were in some kind of four-cornered motel room!
IF ONLY FOR the well-publicized item na nagsisilbing judge si Maricel Soriano sa pilot episode ng Diz Iz It! ay hindi namin ito pinalampas, bukod dito’y ang sinasabing cutting edge daw nito sa kalabang Showtime.
Batu-bato sa langit, magalit na ang pamunuan ng Tape, Inc. kung magagalit, but these are just some of my impressions towards the new show.
Set-wise, it approximates that of Wowowee’s, pero hindi naman isinilang ang Diz Iz It! to rival the Eat… Bulaga!’s rival show, so why make it look that way?
Content-wise, mahihirapan ang PMPC Star Awards for TV kung saang kategorya ito ika-classify. Kumbaga sa vegetable dish, Diz Iz It! is either a chopsuey or a pinakbet, or a combination of both, that lacks a clear concept (kunsabagay, QTV11’s Tweetbiz may also be a nondescript show na ewan kung talk show, kung sitcom, kung reality show, kung whatever).
Since Diz Iz It! is EB’s pre-programming, may nag-suggest na i-pull out ang mga segments/contests tendemic to Eat… Bulaga like Super Sireyna, Little Ms. Philippines, Pinoy Henyo, etc. at isaksak lahat ang mga ‘yon sa bagong show since it’s a hodgepodge of sorts.
At mabalik tayo kay Maricel, initially, I thought that by making “Inay” (katawagan kay Maria) join the audience was a form of disservice to an actress of her stature. Buti na lang, pinagsayaw si Maricel in a medley of danceable tunes for which she became popular in her younger years.
But all in all, may promise ang Diz Iz It!, whatever shortcoming it may have had on its pilot episode ay bahagi ng karaniwang birthing pains like a first-time mom waiting for her baby to see the world.
IT’S NO LONGER the feeling of vindication ang nararamdaman ngayon ni direk Monti Parungao (of Survivor Philippines fame) now that his indie film got selected to participate in the Torino GLBT (Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender) Film Festival in Italy, kundi ang pay-off for his creative efforts.
His film Sagwan incurred the ire of the MTRCB, it also didn’t earn favorable reviews. But direk Monti is flying to Italy for the filmfest slated on April 15-22, hindi siya magsasagwan to get there.
