OVER THE WEEKEND, hindi nag-aksaya ng panahon si Maria Venus Raj at ang kanyang abogado to finally clear things up with the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI), this time over its decision to give her back the BB. Pilipinas-Universe title.
Nitong Sabado lang kasi nag-e-mail ang BPCI reversing its earlier decision to dethrone Venus on the grounds of alleged misrepresentation kaugnay ng kanyang birth records. The past days had seen the beleaguered beauty titlist hopping from one showbiz talk show to another as battleground upang maibalik sa kanya ang kanyang binawing korona.
Well, her TV appearances paid off. Hayun, bago siya isalang sa Startalk ay sinabihan na rin pala siya ng BCPI regarding the reinstatement, pero hindi pa raw sapat ‘yon. Surely, after leaving the GMA Compound ay dumiretso na si Venus with her lawyer in tow to the BCPI office, just one MRT station away (of course, she didn’t ride the train).
Pagkakaroon ng Valid Philippine passport ang hinihinging kundisyon ng BPCI in exchange of her reinstatement para makasama sa mga preparasyon ng Miss Universe. Incidentally, Venus has no idea which country will host the pageant at kung kailan ito gaganapin.
BAGAMA’T PREROGATIVE NG isang live guest to pre-screen possible questions na itatanong sa kanya, as in the case of Claudine Barretto, hindi siyempre maiiwasang hindi siya kulitin tungkol sa tampuhan nila ng kanyang Ate Gretchen. Claudine’s Startalk guesting last Saturday was to essentially promote her drama special, pero meron ding “special drama” ang kanyang kampo.
Mahigpit kasing ini-screen ang mga itatanong, only questions surrounding her TV show were retained. Sa madaling salita, bawal ang tungkol kay Gretchen, but could Claudine help it lalo’t sumalang siya kina Butch Francisco, Lolit Solis at Ricky Lo whose job (not just hosts but entertainment columnists as well) is to let the public know kung ano ang totoo?
Pero walang nagawa si Claudine at ang kanyang kampo, all three hosts cunningly found a way to scratch the surface at the very least. Halatang nag-iba ang timpla ni Claudine, but she had no choice but to sit still (unlike Gretchen who stood up and turned her back from the press).
QUEZON CITY IS the home of six broadcasting companies: ABS-CBN, TV-5, GMA, RPN, IBC and NBN. Tahanan din ito, ayon sa statistics ng walumpung porsiyento (80%) ng mga artista, most of whom are already in politics at mga sasabak pa lang.
Because of the “star stature” associated with the city kung kaya’t pangarap ni mayoralty candidate Mike Defensor na lumikha ng Hollywood upang higit pang patingkarin ang pagkakilala sa siyudad bilang City of Stars.
Paunang hakbang ang pagtatayo ng isang museo that will enshrine the icons in the entertainment industry, foremost is to immortalize Mike’s idol, the late Fernando Poe Jr. in an image made of wax including display of his timeless memorabilia.
Sa mga artista, kanino pa kayo?
