Manny Pacquiao’s boxing gloves, The Dog House’s tourist attraction in Hong Kong

VERY ME-MORABLE ANG vacation trip namin nina Ms. Sheila Queta at Sheila Vidanes sa Hong Kong, China at Macau last July 1-4, 2011 dahil magkakasama kaming nag-celebrate ng kanilang birthday (Sheila V. – July 3, Sheila Q. – July 4) sa Hong Kong. Lalo pang naging fun at exciting nang i-blowout kami ng dinner ni Ms. Cynthia Sol (The Amazing Dancing Diva) sa “Hard Rock Café, HongKong” at mag-bar happening sa The Dog House Bar & Grill, Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, owned by Paul Buxton (Australian), bestfriend of Ms. Cynthia Sol and Chad Del Valle (Senior Marketing of OWTEL and currently one of the board of directors for Philippine Association of Hong Kong (PAHK).

Surprisingly, in one corner of the place, naka-frame ang boxing gloves ni Manny Pacquiao with autographed, hanging on the wall. Mr. Buxton bid’s one pair of Pacman boxing gloves with autographs through auction in Hong Kong Rugby Sevens event worth HK$105,000, which is now tourist attraction of the The Dog House bar in Wanchai and in Tsim Tsa Tsui East. Dinadayo ito ng mga OFWs around the world.

Maraming Pinoy kaming na-encounter na nagtatrabaho sa Hong Kong. Na-kilala namin ang tatlo nating kababayan sa The Dog House bilang bartenders na sina Ramond Principe, Juntie Apar at Gloria Salvia (Supervising Manager). Thanks for the VIP treatment na ibinigay nila sa amin, same with Tita Cynthia and Mr. Paul Buxton.

Ayon kay Ms. Cynthia Sol, “Famous sa Hong Kong ang sport na rugby, kaya every year may competition.” This year’s Hong Kong Sevens was celebra-ted with all the excitement, brilliant rugby and party fanfare that have made this one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events. In 1976, the Hong Kong event has become an internationally recognized phenomenon that attracts teams from the world’s top rugby nations who compete for four different trophies. Fans from all corners of the globe pack the 40,000-seat Hong Kong Stadium.

The Dog House was launched on Australia Day (26 January 2009), owned and operated by Top Solutions Development. Prior to establishing the The Dog House, Paul Buxton was acknowledged as the driving force responsible for the growth and expansion of Hong Kong’s popular Bulldog Bar & Grill and Quarterdeck Seafood Restaurant & Grill outlets. Now, they opened a new branch in Tsim Tsa Tsui East to accommodate those who are living in Kowloon area.
