Korean Wave or Hallyu is sweeping across Asia like storm.

Pinoy fans were in for an exciting treat when famous Korean boyband FT Island recently held a successful concert titled FT Island Manila 2010 Showcase at the PICC Plenary Hall. FT Island is composed of Choi Jonghoon, Lee Hong Ki, Lee Jaejin, Song Seunghyun and Choi Minhwan.

Super Junior is a 13-member boy group which consists of  Leeteuk, Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-in, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum and Kyuhyun. Super Junior is synonymous with total entertainment. Maliban sa pagiging singers at laman ng mga Korean variety shows, Super Junior members are also actors, dancers, composers, comedians, product endorsers, musical actors and television and radio hosts. They can also play musical instruments.

Among their various awards was the Favorite Artist Korea at the MTV Asia Awards in 2008. Sa bansa, their music videos “Sorry Sorry-Answer” and “It’s You” topped the MYX Charts. Nagkaroon pa nga ng parody ang kanilang kantang Sorry, Sorry which was performed by Pinoy inmates.

I asked some of their avid fans about what they are looking forward in the upcoming concert. “Suju makes my life happy kahit ang daming problems because of their kind of music – kakaiba ang beat. Mapapasayaw ka. I’m looking forward to their concert because I want to see them sing live. I also hope that I can have a picture with them,” enthused Lee Jin Han. Glenda, another fan said, “I want to see how good they are when they perform live. I also want to see their cuteness.” “They are one of the best boy groups in Korea kaya I know I will enjoy the concert,” sabi naman ni Jasmine.

Sa palagay ko, the Korean fever is here to stay at marami pa ang “lalagnatin” sa darating na panahon.

Kaibigan, usap tayo muli!
