Kakulitan ng Gigger Boys, niresbakan!

FORGIVE ME, KUYA Boy Abunda, but all throughout your segment with Kris Aquino in last Sunday’s The Buzz, para sa akin, ang heartbreaking part lang du’n ay ang pamamaalam ng inyong co-host sa inyo.

Kris’ striking line was your “marriage” to her on TV that has remained strong kumpara sa kanilang pagsasama ni James Yap. Instantly, it transported me back to the year 1995, ‘yun ‘yung inatasan mo po ako, Kuya Boy to write an article about our newborn Sunday show, ang Startalk, with Kris and Lolit Solis.

Still vividly, tandang-tanda ko po how you described what it was like to work with Kris and ‘Nay Lolit, all three of you with diverse personalities and a propensity to dislike each other.

Kris was the first to go in Startalk, niyakap niyang muli ang istasyong pinagmulan niya, ang ABS-CBN. Then you, Kuya Boy, folowed suit. But it was not until 2000 when Kris joined The Buzz, isang reunion ‘yon ninyo ni Kris.

Kris’ public admission of her espousal breakup with James, para sa akin, was less than an earth-shaking news item. Mas balita ko pang itinuring ang ‘di n’yo na pagsasamang muli in ABS-SBN’s shows, kung saan nakapanghihinayang ang inyong perfect tandem, borne out of many years of friendship.

Kuya Boy, mas ‘yun pa po ang mag-iiwan sa akin ng tatak, a mark so indelible that it would make for a chapter in the history of Philippine TV. At hindi po ang nakapapagod (thank God, it’s over) nang mga litanya ni Kris about her failures in her personal relationships as though she never had her share of faults and shortcomings.

MUKHANG TRUE TO its pralala, to the next level ang ihahaing uri ng horror ng Star Cinema, veering away from the orthodox creepy genre na karaniwan nating napapanood on the wide screen.

If the usual scary movie offers either full-length or three-episode treat, the film arm of ABS-CBN offers five sewn together by a single element. Isa sa limang episode ng Cinco is titled Braso. Kuwento ito ng tatlong bagets undergoing initiation rites sa sinalihan nilang fraternity.

Kinailangan nilang manatili sa isang morgue, ang kaso, their curious kapilyuhan gets the better of them. They desecrate the dead bodies in a playful manner, kaya hayun, niresbakan sila ng mga bangkay!

Ayon mismo sa direktor nitong si Frasco Mortiz (anak ni Direk Bobot Mortiz, like father, like son?), wala raw ibang swak sa papel ng talong boylet kundi ang grupo collectively known as Gigger Boys. Sila’y sina Sam Concepcion, AJ Perez at Robi Domingo. Also in the cast are Baron Geisler, Kristel Moreno and Fred Payawan.

Sam, Aj and Robi have nice words for each other while filming the movie. Kung pumapalpak man daw sila sa instructions, hindi ang tipo ni Direk Frasco ang tumatalak sa set. Samantala, Direk Frasco had a real-life spooky experience himself, sa main building daw ‘yon sa ABS-CBN, kung saan behind him ay mayroong nagtitipa ng keyboard ng computer when he was all alone at the office.

Siyempre, kamay ang ginagamit sa pagtipa, hindi braso.
