Eugene Domingo, binabarat-barat lang sa projects?!

BOY ABUNDA, PROMOTOR ng dagdag-bawas!

Don’t get us wrong, we don’t mean that the King of Talk may have been involved in some electoral fraud in 2004 and in 2007.

Bagama’t nagbawas na ng workload ang mahusay na TV host giving up on his Backroom, Inc. which has now been turned over to its senior employees, another nightly program (aside from Showbiz News Ngayon) has brought to four the number of his existing shows, the others being The Buzz and The Bottomline on weekends.

Simula kasi sa September 12 ay magbabago ang entertainment landscape ng Bandila with Kuya Boy’s sharing the editorial spotlight with news anchors Ces Drilon, Karen Davila and Julius Babao. In his words, ang kanyang pagiging kabahagi ng naturang programa ay “mas pinalakas, mas pinalawak at mas pinagbuklod,” apart from adjusting its slot to an earlier time (mas pinaaga).

Exactly a week from Bandila’s makeover, Kuya Boy never escapes the practical joke among his fellow news anchors. Laptop computers are familiar fixtures on the set, manned by the hosts themselves who do news sourcing from Twitter and other social media.

For some reason, kumawala na si Uge from Ricky Gallardo’s managerial wings, ‘yun ‘yong mga panahong isang virtual support — or even lower than that — ang nakukuhang exposure ng komedyana sa pelikula.

Herself in the business of professional management, ani Ate Chit — at a table we shared during the thanksgiving/ victory party of Star Cinema’s Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi — hindi man daw siya ganoon ka-close kay Ricky, her heart goes to her colleague.

Speaking in general terms, dapat daw maintindihan ng sinumang artista ang kahalagahan ng isang manager sa kanyang propesyon, dahil kaya naman nagkakaroon ng trabaho ang kanyang alaga is because of his/her manager who offers his/her artist like merchandise being peddled around.

Nakukuha rin daw niya sa lambing ang mga ito in terms of her demands which she believes are just due her.

Ate Chit, for all her expertise in artist management, however, is not sold to the idea. In such deals, ang trabaho ng manager ay magdikta ng presyo ng kanyang alaga. If at any point in the business transaction ay hindi aprub sa producer ang hinihinging talent fee ng manager for his/her artist, that’s when the “tawaran” takes place like the “bulungan” at the Malabon fishport.

Amen.
