Nasa kainitan na kasi ng pamamahagi ng mga premyo sa program hosted by Ogie Diaz and MJ Felipe when the screen flashed a “No More Available Guests” sign, samantalang kulang-kulang singkuwenta pa ang mga reporter whose names had not been called.

Agad namang na-restore ang system, kung saan nga lang those 50 or less hopefuls were not as fortunate .Nagbiro tuloy si Ogie na baka naman wala ang mga pangalan nila ni MJ, teka, sila nga lang kaya?

Anyway, ganu’n lang naman talaga ‘pag raffle, take out the letter “a,” and it ruffles you! Pero aaminin ko, that ABS-CBN CorpComm (next to TV5’s?) is like a soft pillow that I can hug to put me to a good sleep.

Despite our absence at the event, and having won a 5.6 cubic-foot fridge, ay itinabi muna ‘yon sa pinagdausang venue for safekeeping until I claimed it the next day. Karaniwan na kasing forfeited ang mga raffled items ‘pag wala ka, not in the case of ER’s event which he jointly hosted with his wife, also a public servant in Laguna.

BLIND ITEM: GUSTO ko na lang isipin that generally, comedians should not be taken seriously – literally, that is – dahil natural na sa kanila ang magpatawa rather than do otherwise.

Pero ibang klase para sa akin ang isang sikat na komedyante. All throughout his career na yata, mahirap siyang makunan ng interview unless he has a project – TV or movie – to promote kung saan obligado nga naman siyang magpaunlak ng panayam. Understandably enough, sikat naman kasi siya, he does not need an ounce of publicity even if he’s a newsmaker as far as his “stormy affair” with a TV host (more than 20 years his junior!) is concerned.

Nagpapaka-consistent lang siguro ang popular comedian na ito in terms of his not-so-friendly stance. Siya kasi ‘yung tipong mapapahiya ang sinumang reporter – even the likes of a respected journalist tasked to interview Hollywood stars – na tanungin siya about personal issues, most specially bordering on his lovelife.

May pagka-pilosopong ewan ang tanyag na komedyante, ewan din kung defense mechanism lang din niya ‘yon to parry sensible questions by way of careless, insensitive and insulting answers. Still, nalulusutan pa rin naman niya ang ugaling ‘yon… thanks to a broadminded working press na natatawa na lang sa kanyang karakter sa pelikula, but who scoff at his don’t-dare-come-near-me attitude.

HINDI ITINAGO NI Sunshine Dizon ang pagkadismaya sa Showbiz Central over what she described (in her Startalk interview by Joey de Leon) as the program’s unfair coverage of her husband Timothy Tan’s involvement in a road accident in Angeles City, Pampanga last week.

Buti na lang, idinaan ni Tito Joey sa pagpapatawa ang pagkainis ni Sunshine sa SC, na panay naman ang puri sa Startalk who handled the story with impartiality and respect. Inaabangan namin ang statement ng SC to address Sunshine’s sentiments, pero inilatag lang nila ang kuwento, lifting excerpts from the Startalk interview.

Para sa amin, SC’s evasion was a grave oversight. Kung nakuha ng programa na mag-editorialize tungkol sa tweet ni Tim Yap regarding the “mistaken” lotto winner, why not the case of another Tim?
