Divine Lee, kinakargo ang kasalanan ng ama

WHOSE NAME immediately comes to mind at the mere mention of Divine Lee? No one else but her father Delfin Lee who — without necessarily rubbing it in on his daughter — is involved in a large-scale scam dawit ang kanyang Globe Asiatique.

At least two popular celebrities ang nabiktima ng nabukong operasyon ni Mr. Lee, sina Melai Cantiveros at Ejay Falcon whose house and lot prizes given away by the two consecutive Pinoy Big Brother editions in the past ay hindi naipagkaloob.

For now, Mr. Lee’s whereabouts remain unknown, maging ang kanyang anak na si Divine is clueless kung nasaan na bang lupalop ang kanyang ama.

“Even before the issue came out, wala na kaming communication.  But people would always ask me about my dad,” simula ni Divine.

When cornered at a recent intimate interview, inaaasahan na raw ng entertainment TV host na hindi siya ligtas sa mga tanong tungkol sa kanyang ama. Aware din si Divine that she’s being constantly bashed on Twitter ng mga taong posibleng nabiktima ng kumpanya ng kanyang ama.

Although she feels for her dad, Divine finds it seemingly unfair na ang kasalanan ng kanyang tatay ay kailangang ibunton sa kanya. Tanggap na raw niya ang mga batikos wherein her total innocence is dragged — since her media exposure is what makes her susceptible to the public outrage — pero mabigat daw sa kalooban ni Divine na maging ang kanyang anim na taong gulang na kapatid is not spared from public humiliation.

In the first place, hindi nga nila alam exactly what’s going on, why pick on these innocent kids?” katwiran ni Divine.

But despite all this, even if aminado ang hitad na tao lang siya para maapektuhan ng isyu, Divine still manages to get her act together.

It’s business as usual for Divine who continues to carve a niche sa larangan ng entertainment hosting such as her stint in TV5’s Ang Latest where she does on-camera field reporting of events, from showbiz to lifestyle to fashion to what-have-you.

INABANGAN NITONG Lunes sa Face To Face ang guesting nina Eugene Domingo at Arnell Ignacio bilang mga celebrity sawsawero’t sawsawera. They, too, gave their counselling tips to the feuding parties.

NOT ALL singers mount a show for a cause.

While music is what gives meaning to their profession, kakaiba ang layunin ng rock singer na si Paula Bianca who staged a successful show last Saturday (August 25) at the Lucky Chinatown Mall in Divisoria.

As if to prove that a big gig comes one after the other, Paula topbills a must-see show at the Zirkoh Bar on Tomas Morato on September 14. Pero ang pagiging cause-oriented ng natu-rang mang-aawit — who continues to keep the Pinoy rock burning — ay ang kanyang one-woman performance night titled Paula Bianca: Rockphilia on November 9.

This is for the benefit of the hemophiliacs, a fund-raising event helmed by the Haplos Foundation.
