Dennis Trillo at Bianca King, nagde-date na!

NAGKULANG YATA SA briefing ang staff ng Miss World Philippines 2011 sa major host nitong si Dingdong Dantes, or perhaps the actor may have found it difficult to distinguish hosting from ancho-ring.

Kinuhang host si Dingdong, therefore, he should have reserved his comments tungkol sa mga kandidata. Trabaho ‘yon ng anchor, not even any judge in any beauty pageant who evaluates the candidates subjectively is allowed to air his opinion.

Isa lang ito sa maraming noticeable boo-boos in Ms. Cory Quirino’s pageant, na nakikinita na naming naka-chin up at nakapamewang si Ms. Stella Marquez-Araneta as a display of derision towards what seemed like a rehashed, if not an amateurish production.

An instrumental version of Ang Dalagang Pilipina (is this the correct title?) was played during the evening gown competition, puwede ba, 48 years ago na namin ‘yon napanood sa Binibining Pilipinas, ‘no!

Also, couldn’t the pool of writers think of a better, more challenging question in the Q & A portion next time? Ang napuntang question sa title holder ay may kaugnayan sa kanyang cash prize, what would she do with it?

All its hosts were unsure of their blockings, maging si Isabelle Daza was a big letdown in the hosting department.  Cuing was at its worst. The whole production struck us as though isang rehear-sal lang ‘yon, at sa darating na Sunday pa lang ang coronation night.

As the pageant was supposed to reach its climax, lumaylay ang dapat sana’y makapigil-hiningang announcement as to who between the two remaining finalists would bring home the title. Unang tinawag ang First Princess, there was again a disturbing dead air, kung saan kumunsumo ng oras ang pag-akyat ng magsasabit ng sash dito at mag-aabot ng bouquet.

All this time, the winner was standing behind, at saka lang ini-announce ni Ms. Quirino na, “Which means that the first Miss World Philippines 2011 is…”

Well, which also means that the first Miss World Philippines 2011 was “ang tsakaaaaaaaa!!!”

No, as far as we know.

Neither hassles nor hitches are seen though, both of them are single anyway.

Here’s hoping that Bianca will not

regret later.
