LAST WEEKEND WAS TV5’s treat for the boxing afficionados. Inilunsad kasi ng Kapatid network ang kauna-unahang MVP (named after telecommunications mogul Manny V. Pangilinan) Boxing Cup nitong Sabado with the final match last night of seven participating Asian countries tulad ng China, Thailand, Chinese-Taipei, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Macau at Philippines.

The MVP Boxing Cup takes pride in being the first international amateur boxing tournament, reviving the then-Mayor’s Cup na sumikat noong dekada otsenta at nobenta as a breeding ground for greenhorn pugs.

Go, go, Daddy Manny!

It was colleague Shirley Pizarro who represented Cesar on behalf of the latter’s manager. Pero kung ang kampo raw ng aktor ang tatanungin, Norma was privy to the transfer all along. Having been Cesar’s manager for God-knows-for-how-long, hindi naman siguro para “isahan” ito ng aktor, much less take advantage of her temporary physical absence.

  5. hindi naman siguro tanga, mahina lang talaga sa lohiko ang manunulat na ito. ako gusto ko siyang binabasa kasi he makes me laugh. he is very consistent with his inconsistency. ganun lang yun tsaka bakit naman tayo maghahanap ng intelligence dito, binababa naman natin ang ating sarili kung ganun. they were not called entertainment writers if they cant amuse us, right? clowns in a different suit they are, arent they? nyahahaha nahilo ako dun.

Carrasco needs to do more research.

    • Sarap nang Cassava cake. I can bake a whole batch and eat it all.

  8. with all due respect to the writer..ano problema kumain ng cassava cake sa kalye??porke artista? di pwede kumain?? me ganon??…that shows sa pagiging humble at totoo sa sarili di ba?? di yung mga pa sosyal na mga artista..

  9. di tanga ang writer na ito. he was a dean lister and member of the student council during his college days. the said writer tried out for the original cast of miss saigon. he was an editor in chief of a defunct magazine, only to walk out due to the owner’s non-payment of most writers considering that mags were the highest selling during that time. before you blurt out that this writer is tanga, check his bio first. why do i know he is not tanga, ask around in his circle to see how intelligent this person is . he is so smart that he goes down to the readers’ mentality so you can understand, otherwise you will at a loss how profound and deep this person you are referring to. EUFRONIO CARRASCO, III is all that. how do i know? because i am EUFRONIO CARRASCO, IV, the writer’s younger brother. now, if you are impressed with my erudition, you should meet my brother, he’s way better than me.

    • Ganon?
! ! .. ha ha ha aha haa haa ha ha ( ala Kris tawa ko )

      • my brother used to be an entertainment writer in the manila standard and the manika chronicle, now please tell me how was he able to work in those english language newspapers if he only took short courses in english? granted that my brother only went to feu, it was due to our financial constraints but nonetheless, feu were able to produce good students, one of which was my brother.

      • If he is as smart as you say he is he would have gotten into UP’s writing courses. UP is as inexpensive as they come. Or he could have easily gotten into Ateneo’s or DLSU’s writing courses on a scholarship, like lots of people do.

Entertainment writers are not held in as high a standard as the regular journalists in English language broadsheets. It is understood that they will have their baduy moments. The important thing for these guys is to get the necessary scoop to bring in the advertisers. How do I know? My friends owned one of the broadsheets you mentioned. While your brother probably has some form of inate intelligence in him, he is far from the Einstein you claim him to be, as exhibited in his columns. And yes, his English grammar is horendous.

    • I am not impressed with your ‘erudition’. Your writing is not scholarly (ibig sabihin ng erudition). Kulang nga ng intransitive verb at proposition English mo, eh!

If your brother is intelligent why is he not writing for an schorlarly publication?

      • on the contrary, unlike my brother, we have different orientations. i am married, once divorced with 2 kids. i can understand when readers disagree with his columms and you can opine your 2 cents worth. i dont know who the heck cogi domingo is, though i have seen in an interview in one of the gma pinoy tv talk shows? you can disagree with him, but to call him tanga and question his credentials, you have to really know the person to call one. as far as why he writes in the pilipino star ngayon and pinoy parazzi? he has to learn a living. our economy back home is in such disarray that you have to hustle to survive. that is why he is also the writer/segment producer of startalk and one of the personalities in tweetbiz. talk about being tanga, multiple tasks gma/qtv11 (gma pinoy and gma life tv here), and columns in different newspapers. not bad that for accused of being tanga.

    • English 101, that’s all you need. Believe me, it works. Just a friendly advice from Roseville, that’s where I am.
