SA MULING pagkakataon, binuksan ng TV5 ang pintuan ng pag-asa sa ating mga kababayan na nais makipagsapalaran sa programang Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
In hindsight, it was Christopher de Leon who hosted the program on franchise many years ago. Ibinalik ito ng TV5, this time with Vic Sotto, himself a millionaire of talents.
WWTBAM’s comeback was perfectly timed. Nataon kasing kapapanalo din lang sa Oscars ng pelikulang Slumdog Millionaire with the program as backdrop where significant events in the life of the principal character Jibed with every mind-boggling question thrown his way.
TV5, for its part, has found a winner in the program. Mataas kasi ang naitalang ratings nito when it piloted two Saturdays ago. As a result, walang mapagsidlan ang tuwa ng network management over what obviously appears to be another consistent top-rating program every Pinoy would love to watch.
MAY SPHERICAL OBJECT o “orb” kung tawagin si Lorna Tolentino as commonly present in all her pictures. Kung ilarawan niya ito’y bilog na ilaw that does not stay away from her in every picture-taking she makes with friends.
Ikinukunekta ni Ms. LT ang beam of light na ‘yon sa presensiya ng kanyang nasirang asawa, si Rudy Fernandez, whom she feels is always around to watch over her.
Ilang pangyayari na raw, ayon sa aktres, ang magpapatunay that Daboy’s earthbound spirit has not crossed the world far beyond. Tulad na lang daw nu’ng minsang nasa dressing room siya, bigla na lang daw may kumalabit sa kanya from behind. Instantly, she knew it was her “Babe.”
Bahagi rin ng pag-a-acknowledge ni Lorna ng patuloy na presensiya ni Daboy is her refusal to fix certain belongings her husband left behind. Minsan, napagtripan daw ng aktres na isuot ang shorts at shirt ng kanyang mister plucked from a heap of used clothes that still bear his scent.
Inaamuy-amoy pa rin daw ni Lorna ang mga damit na ‘yon with stern instructions never to lay a hand on them, much less turn them over for laundry. Pero ayon sa nakausap daw ni Ms. LT, mas gagaan daw ang kanyang kalooban kung ipauubaya na lang niya sa dapat kalagyan ang mga naiwang gamit ng asawa.
LT is doing just that, lalo’t apat na araw mula ngayon ay unang death anniversary ni Rudy. Picking up the broken pieces together has, in fact, started for the widow. On June 8, bibiyahe si LT kasama si Senator Jinggoy Estrada sa Saudi Arabia at Kuwait to promote their Katas ng Saudi movie, entry to the 2007 MMFF. Hopefully, may sequel daw ito.
But the hope of hopes is that Lorna embark on a sequel of renewed enthusiasm towards her career.
