Angelica Panganiban, may trauma pa rin sa lindol sa Bohol

Angelica-PanganibanMAY MGA hindi malilimutang pangyayari ngayong taon sa kanyang buhay si Angelica Panganiban like the death of her adoptive mother Melania David Panganiban last May and being in Bohol when the recent earthquake struck. Dahil dito, there was a point in her life na hindi niya feel mag-celebrate ng kanyang kaarawan (November 4).

With the buildings around her collapsing and the ground shaking underneath her feet, Angelica was almost certain they were going to die. Magmula Bohol ay nakarating sila ng kanyang mga kasama sa Cebu pero ang flight nila pabalik ng Manila ay nadelay ng ilang oras because planes could not take off safely due to the aftershocks. Samantala ay naghihintay naman sa kanya sa airport sa Manila si John Lloyd Cruz. When Angelica and her group finally made it back, there was a deep sense of relief felt on both sides.
“Pagkakaligtas sa Bohol, tiningnan ko in a positive way, binaliktad ko ang pangit na pag-iisip ko ng mga oras na iyon. Sabi ko, second life ko ito, so magce-celebrate ako, and I think iyong pagkamatay ng mommy ko, sabi ko, kailangan ko na siyang tanggapin na celebration din iyon – celebration of life. Tapos na ang buhay niya sa earth. Masaya na siya ngayon, and dapat, masaya rin ako para sa kanya.”
May kaba pa rin hanggang ngayon sa dibdib ni Angelica dahil sa kanyang karanasan sa Bohol. Sa nakaraang media launch sa One Esplanade, kung saan siya inilunsad bilang brand ambassador ng Excelente, the newest imported light brandy to hit the market, she was standing onstage, being introduced by hosts Ramon Bautista and Grace Lee, nang maramdaman niyang yumanig nang konti ang entablado because of the vibrations coming from the large speakers na malapit sa kanila. She managed to stand her ground and made it through the event as if nothing had happened.

Ang Excelente ay perfectly blended light brandy imported from Spain. It has low alcohol content and is manufactured and bottled in Jerez, Spain by one of the largest distillers in Spain (Williams and Humbert) and exclusively distributed in the country by Montosco Inc.

The Excelente brandy launch is Angelica’s second tri-media campaign, and its “good shots” theme is something close to her heart. The product, she says, does not mean to encourage heavy drinking, but is more along the lines of celebrating with family and friends. Maingat sa pagpili ng mga endorsements si Angelica, and when Excelente approached her, she made sure that it was clear what approach the campaign was going to take. Paliwanag niya, “Maingat ako kumuha, lalo pag alak ang i-e-endorse, lalo dito kasi medyo conservative ang mga tao. Naging malinaw naman nung tinanggap ko kung paano ang approach na mangyayari, nung malaman ko na barkada, masaya lang, gaya ng commercial, okay sa akin iyon.”
