IDARAOS NGAYONG araw ng Miyerkoles Agosto 14 ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Navotas ang unang health summit sa pakikipagtulungan ng World Health Organization (WHO) sa Bayleaf Intramuros Hotel Manila.
Ayon kay Mayor John Rey Tiangco, na nanguna sa pagpapatayo ng unang ospital sa lungsod, ang layunin ng forum ay “to foster and enhance partnership and collaboration towards the achievement of Kalusugang Pangkalahatan in Navotas.”
“The event also intends to provide an avenue to share progress and accomplishments, raise awareness, assess these health initiatives, build existing and forge new partnerships, capture best practices, and draw up next steps on how the Navotas City Health Office can further intensify its efforts to strengthen its health care system,” dagdag ng alkalde.
Kabilang sa mga magsisipagsalita sina Rep. Toby Tiangco, Dr. Alberto G. Romualdez, Former Secretary of DOH at ang kinatawan ng WHO na si Dr. Julie Lyn Hall.
“The local government unit has also invited non-government organizations, youth representatives, women’s groups and other stakeholders in order to gather feedback and encourage their participation in improving the city’s existing health system,” ani Dr. Liberty Domingo, Acting City Health Officer.
